Bob Corker: I Do Support Many of Trump’s Policies, But His Conduct Is Unforgivable

‘There is a lot of support for President Trump’

EXCERPT:

CORKER: "Yeah. So, we had a lot of conversations when I was there about the fact that both sides of the aisle, the Democrats have such a wide rage of thought and on the Republican side you have such a wide range of thought and it’s almost a miracle that everybody is held together. I don’t know about the additional party issue. I mean, that could easily be debated on the Democratic side, too. I know when you have a president like the Democrats have today, it’s easier to hold people together. But again, we’ve, the party became a sort of a personality-driven party and I think you are seeing some responsible people step up and talk about the things that have made our party strong and have been a plank of the Republican Party, the fiscal issues, trade issues, you know, American leadership, you know, getting back to core issues that have made us strong and made the part strong. So there will be a debate, I don't think there's any question about it, and obviously there will be a debate in 2024 when people are running. I think you are going to see a pretty wide range of thought among those people who ultimately run. And -- and really, the party doesn’t change much until -- until there is somebody there leading it and laying out policy. But there is no question that there is a huge, there is a lot of support for President Trump. I do support many of his policies, but his conduct is unforgivable. But yet, as you mention, it’s -- it's still pretty strong out there."
