Obama: I Passed ‘Tax Cuts for 98 Percent of Americans and 97 Percent of Small Businesses’

“Thanks to lower gas prices and us setting standards to double fuel efficiency on cars, the typical families on pace to save $700 at the pump this year. (Applause) We extended tax cuts for 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses. And yes we asked the wealthiest Americans, who have been doing better than everybody else not just relatively, but absolutely -- we asked them to pay a little more to help bring down the deficit.” (Applause)
