GATES: "Well, the -- these vaccines are going through this phase three trial, where you look at the efficacy and you look at all of the medical records to see if there are any adverse events. You know, the companies have their reputations, many of these companies are doing this on a not-for-profit basis, so there is not some big profit upside to many of the companies involved, including the ones that will have the most scalable, low cost vaccines, which is four of the -- the leading six companies here. So, you know, vaccines are complex. There's often rare side effects, even for vaccines that have dramatic net benefit. You know, we're all going to be looking at the data, but, you know, the -- a safe vaccine, I think, is -- is very likely to come out of this R&D work."
