Tom Cotton: ‘Premature’ for Sports to Go on Hold Because of the Jacob Blake Shooting

‘As you say, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on 15 seconds of Internet video’

EXCERPT:

COTTON: “I think it’s premature to make those kind of decisions because we don’t have all the facts. As you say we shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on 15 seconds of Internet video. In the Blake shooting there has now been more video, there's now been more testimony. We simply do not know enough what happened on that incident. Just like we don’t know enough about what happened in the shooting two nights later. We shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts in a deliberate and careful fashion. What we do know though is that we cannot tolerate arson and looting and rioting in our streets in response to any kind of shooting whatsoever.”
