NBC Guest: It Is Not Safe To Send Kids Back To School

‘We’re taking more of a risk especially in the hot zones in terms of sending kids back in without testing’

EXCERPT:

JHA: “I think we've seen kids being identified more just because we have had large outbreaks across the country and as we test people, we never thought children were immune. So we have seen more kids get infected. You know I do think that in large parts of the country right now the infection rates are so high that it's probably not safe to send kids back. But in some areas of the country it is. But it would be much, much safer if we could do testing us in part of ongoing surveillance at schools. But we don’t have the testing capacity to do that. So we’re really taking more of a risk especially in those hot zones in terms of sending kids back in without testing.”
