Minneapolis Police Officer Describes ‘Hatred’ from City Leaders: ‘Our Morale Has Never Been Lower’

‘Every Minneapolis cop ... [is] scared to death to answer calls’

EXCERPT:

WALKER: "Our morale has never been lower. I think it speaks volumes for the cops who still come to this city every day and still put it all on the line every day. Because let's be honest, we signed up for this job and we know that death could result in what we do. We know that. But when you have the people, the very people that you're giving your life for to protect turn on you and make you feel like you're on your own… It wasn't enough to just get disciplined, it wasn't enough to possibly get suspended or fired. We are put in a position right now where every Minneapolis cop feels that they're the next incident. They're scared to death to answer calls in case something turns violent because they're actively trying to send us to prison. Cops are scared of dying and they're scared of going to prison and it's never been worse. It's never been worse.“
