Chris Wallace: Trump Camp Is ‘Frustrated with Joe Biden, They Were Hoping that He Would Go Further Left’

‘I think they’re a little bit frustrated with Joe Biden’

EXCERPT:

WALLACE: "It’s interesting. I think they’re a little bit frustrated with Joe Biden. They were hoping that Joe Biden would go further left, and you could argue that he still has, but his tone in this economic message, and it is reminiscent, some would say a rip-off, of President Trump. He’s talking about buy American, the President talks about America first, and his speech was all about $700 billion in taxpayer money over the next four years for the federal government to buy American goods to invest in research and development, for American industries the whole idea of being to rebuild the manufacturing base. Of course, that’s something that President Trump ran on an won on in 2016. You didn't hear Biden, who had supported international trade in the past, NAFTA, the Pacific Trade Partnership, not talking about that. Obviously, the Trump White House is going to try to emphasize the differences, and there are differences, the President doing it by cutting taxes and reducing regulation, Biden talking about big spending programs and increasing taxes to pay for them. But the basic argument, which is let’s focus on America and rebuilding the industrial base of America, very much the same.”
