“This great recession put so many people behind. And what we had to do is to dig ourselves out of the hole that President Obama inherited. If I have been elected, I would inherit the same deep hole. And it was not of any of your doing, but it made people lose their jobs, have their homes foreclosed on, postpone sending kids to college, put off saving for retirement. And now after a lot of hard work, we’re out of that hole, we’re standing up, but we’re not running yet. We need to get by and then get ahead and then stay.”
