FDA Commissioner: ‘The Food Supply in the U.S. Is Safe and Secure’

HAHN: "So first of all, the food supply in the U.S. is safe and secure. We are seeing unprecedented demand which is affecting spot shortages of some food around the country, and we are very concerned to make sure we protect the health and welfare of our food workers. We’ve issued guidance. CDC has issued guidance. We’re working hand in hand with USDA on this. We need to protect those workers because we need to keep those plants open."
