Van Jones: ‘Obama The Lawyer Is Gone; Obama The Leader Is Back’

‘We’ll get into whether it’s legal and handled properly [later]...’

“Well look, I think so. Listen, we're going to get into whether it's legal and handled properly, whatever. But the first thing that you see today is Obama the lawyer is gone. Obama the leader is back. He’s not trying to say, 'Well look what I said was this, and what I meant was that.' Trying to lawyer up his responses, that's gone. He says, 'Listen, it's on me, we fumbled this. We're going to work to fix it.’ That's the first thing he's got to do to begin restoring some credibility and get some momentum going, I thought that was good. I also thought it was very interesting to see the response earlier of Boehner who could have said, ‘Listen, the president's coming forward, he wants to fix this, I’m going to meet this president, and we're going to try to fix this thing,’ Saying we have to give up and completely scrap the whole thing. So you have a president saying these are problems that are fixable, and then you have Boehner throwing in the towel and not even meeting the president half way to try to solve this problem.”
