Love is in the air!

Ever since Rep. Adam Schiff escorted articles of impeachment across Capitol Hill, media hearts went aflutter.

Members of the major media can hardly contain themselves as Schiff, who is leading Democrats’ effort to oust President Trump from office, has spent the preceding 48 hours prosecuting the case for POTUS’s impeachment.

While the Senate trial is largely receiving yawns from average Americans, Schiff’s performance is eliciting amatory excitement from the D.C. press corps.

Asked to comment on Schiff’s performance, CNN’s chief legal correspondent, Jeffrey Toobin, exclaimed: “I thought it was dazzling!”

“The way he wove through both the facts of the case and the historical context was really remarkable,” Toobin carried on.

“It was a virtuoso performance that drew praise from all sides yesterday,” gushed MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. “It was a stunning recitation of the facts that weave together constitutional framing, American history and Donald Trump’s laundry list of abuses of power and obstruction of Congress.”

MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson predicted Schiff’s remarks would be studied at least a century into the future.

“He was speaking not just to the 100 people in the room, he was speaking to 100 years in the future,” Johnson exalted. “This is a speech that kids are going to be given in 2060 at the university projects and things like that.”

MSNBC’s Capitol Hill correspondent, Garrett Haake, is likewise crushing on Schiff.

“His mastery of this material is really formidable,” Haake marveled. “I have heard from a number of Republicans who’ve been impressed by Schiff’s mastery of this material and his ability to weave it all together.”

And that’s just a sampling. For more, check out the supercut above.
