Rep. Collins: American People Need to Look at the Articles for What They Are, a Partisan Impeachment

COLLINS: "I think that the phone call is fine as it is. I think it's a conversation taken at a point in time in which the President was expressing his concerns as we go forward. The rest of that afternoon, you will see the same thing play over and over. And I think what we saw — this is my last statement before we go to votes — what we saw this morning was a starting out, they tried their best to make the articles look good, and then all of a sudden, as we started poking holes in their story for the whole time, you saw them sort of step back. A couple of them will come forward and say, 'This is what we're trying to say,' but really, right now this is just all over the map. This is why the American people need to look at these articles for what they are, basically a partisan impeachment."
