‘The American people think that Congress can find more fat in the budget than what is spent on old people’

ROGER SIMON: “I think the key word in that is desperate. Chris Christie has to give a rationale for why out of all of the Republican potential candidates there is still room for him. Seizing on a bill that has no chance of passing in Congress -- we’re not going to raise the retirement age for social security. We’re not going to means test social security. Even though doing both of those would raise billions of dollars. But the American people think that Congress can find more fat in the budget than what is spent on old people.”
