Afghan President Thanks United States for Sacrifice: We Will ‘Speak Truth to Terror’

“So what’s the legacy? The legacy is now a proud Afghan Security Forces that has dealt with the best of you and emulates the best of your example. Our Special Forces that have worked shoulder to shoulder with you are carrying the mission. Our Army Corps have changed fundamentally as a result of interacting with you. Our Special Police Forces and our Secret Service all remember you ... We die. But we will never be defeated. Terrorism is a threat. It’s evil. But we, the people of Afghanistan, are willing to speak truth to terror by saying no, you will never overwhelm us, you will never subdue us. We are going to overcome.” (Applause)
