Jack Reed: It’s Disgraceful to Try to Cover Up the Name of Senator McCain

‘I think it’s disgraceful to try to cover up the name of not just Senator John McCain but his father and grandfather’

EXCERPT:

REED: "Well, I think it’s disgraceful to try to cover up the name of not just Senator John McCain but his father and grandfather. All three were extraordinary Naval heroes. For the president to say I didn’t know anything about it but it’s well meaning adds insult to injury. It wasn’t well meaning. It was, I think, perhaps, the attempt of the staff to prevent the president from having a tantrum if he saw the name. That shows not just the president’s relationship to Senator McCain but his combustible personality which is in very much contrast to what is necessary to be president of the United States."
