Karine Jean-Pierre: Congress Has ‘Constitutional Duty’ to Hold the President Accountable

‘They are missing out on what they should be doing as Congress’

EXCERPT:

JEAN-PIERRE: “Look, I think that, going back to what happened with Bill Clinton, Joy — then President Bill Clinton — it was a totally different scenario. We are not in business as usual. This is not normal what we're seeing. We were talking then about a president who had an affair and lied about it. Now we are talking about a president that abuses his power every day, who obstructs justice every day. We have to remember one more thing, is that he is an unindicted co-conspirator for a crime that has nothing to do with the Mueller probe. I mean, this is the type of president that we are talking about, and what Democrats are doing, they are giving subpoenas, the courts are stepping in, yes, but it's not up to the courts to hold this President accountable. It is their constitutional duty, the Congress, their duty to hold this President accountable. And so, they are missing out on what they should be doing as Congress.”
