John Kerry Hits Back at Trump Call for Logan Act Prosecution: ‘Simply Wrong, End of Story’

‘They are saying that Kerry is persuading Iranians not to talk to Trump’

RUSH EXCERPT:

KOSINSKI: “Right. This has been litigated before. There were members of the administration that brought up this subject late last year. Now President Trump seems to be taking it further by publicly declaring that former Secretary of State John Kerry should be prosecuted for his conversations with members of the Iranian leadership. So here’s what Kerry’s spokesperson is saying in response to this. Everything President Trump said today is simply wrong, end of story. He’s wrong about the facts, wrong about the law and sadly he’s been wrong about how to use diplomacy to keep America safe. Secretary Kerry helped negotiate a nuclear agreement that helped to solve an intractable problem. The world support it had then, supports it now. We hoped the president would focus on fixing foreign policy issues rather than attack his predecessors. When this game up years ago, Kerry responded that he’s staying in touch with his former counterparts at other other former secretary of states have done. He himself has he had these vosgess as a matter of years and that he’s not advocating against current U.S. Policy. They are saying that Kerry is persuading Iranians not to talk to Trump and Kerry didn’t address that exactly in this statement, but we expect to hear more from them later. Brooke?”
