NYPD Commissioner: Congress Shouldn’t Hold DHS Funding ‘Hostage’

COMMISSIONER BILL BRATTON: "Well as we previously stated, with all that is going on in Washington at the moment, the debate about withholding of funding for homeland security, this is not the time to engage in activities that would threaten our counter terrorism capabilities such as have been exhibited in the movement on this case. And effectively to hold our counter-terrorism agencies hostage to political machinations in D.C. I think our case reinforces that contention on our part. This is not the time to be engaging in political rhetoric or political grandstanding."
