FNC’s John Roberts: ‘Bit of a Leap’ for Trump to Say Manafort Case Proves There Was No Collusion

‘So it’s a bit of a leap to say the fact that he was sentenced to 7 1/2 years on charges that had nothing to do with collusion means that there was no collusion’

EXCERPT:

ROBERTS: "President Trump also said that today’s sentence proved again that there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russia investigation. We should make it clear that the sentencing and the charges that Paul Manafort was being sentenced for had nothing to do with Russia collusion. So it’s a bit of a leap to say the fact that he was sentenced today to 7 1/2 years on charges that had nothing to do with collusion means there was no collusion. The Mueller report and investigation is still ongoing. The President said today he has no idea when that report will be released. We've heard rumors it might come as early as Friday. That apparently now is not the case. But the President a number of months ago also did not rule out a potential pardon for Paul Manafort. This afternoon he was asked about that again. Listen here."
