BUTTIGIEG: "Yeah, sure. So the first, at risk of sounding simple-minded, is based on the idea that the person who gets the most votes ought to win, and that — and I’m talking about the general election, I’m not talking about the primary calendar, just want to make sure that’s clear to everybody in my New Hampshire audience. But I live in a — I live in the state of Indiana, it doesn’t matter most years what we think, because our state’s too conservative to matter in the electoral college. And if you live in California, it doesn’t really matter what you think, because your state's too liberal to matter in the electoral college. I just believe that we’d be better served if we had a system where the person who gets the most votes actually wins the election. So that’s my take on that one."
