SPEIER: "The President is using almost a million federal employees as bargaining chips. I was with the admiral from the Coast Guard this afternoon who is very upset about what is taking place and is attempting to protect and defend all of his Coast Guardsmen. I would say we don’t have the right to have a State of the Union address, when the state of the union is in such disarray. I support the Speaker and I have always thought that the State of Union address should not take place while the Government is shut down."
