Gerald Connolly: ‘I’m Comfortable’ with the Decision to Un-invite President from the House Chamber

‘If Mr. Trump wants to test that, I think he will be very embarrassed’

EXCERPT:

TODD: “Are you comfortable with the Speaker's decision to essentially uninvite the President from the House chamber?”

CONNOLLY: “I am. And I really am because of separation of powers here. No one has a right to come to the House of Representatives and speak. They do that by invitation and the House chamber is controlled by the Speaker. And if Mr. Trump wants to test that, I think he will be very embarrassed. The lights will be out, the doors will be locked, there will be no one to greet him, and there will be no one in the galleries. You know, this is a separate but co-equal branch of Government and he needs to get used to that fact.”
