Santorum on the Wall: ‘Counter-Intuitive’ That Democrats Are Opposing Spending More Money

‘I can’t remember the last time we had a budget battle where the Democrats fought and said we want to control spending’

EXCERPT:

AVLON: "If you were advising the president what specific deal would you advise him to cut to presumably get his wall and get the government open again?"
SANTORUM: "Well it’s just, to me, it’s a little counter-intuitive that Democrats are opposing more money. I mean, I don’t know, I can’t remember the last time we had a budget battle where the Democrats fought and said, no, we want to control spending. The Democrats are always asking for money for everything. So the president doesn’t seem to be concerned about that, which is sort of counter to the, again, the traditional Republican ideas."
