Rahm Emanuel: Trump ‘Is the Issue’ This Election

‘Yes there is health care, there are other issues, but the fact of the matter is Donald Trump is the issue’

EXCERPT:

EMANUEL: "I would finalize or close the election since Donald Trump is the issue. Yes, there's health care, there are other issues, but the fact of the matter is Donald Trump is the issue and he's closing around, as you said, impeachment and immigration, and we should close the election by, 'You could either have a checkmate or blank check. Which one do you want?' And we have to do an affirmative argument, rather than trying to keep this impeachment thing off the table, an argument about him. Because there's three types of an electorate: energized Republican, energized Democrat and a mea culpa vote. And there is a mea culpa vote. A lot of them I look at are in this room right now. Everybody that in 2016 didn't vote at level and they're energized at a level, college-educated women who didn't turn out at full level for Hillary Clinton, and they're coming in with a mea culpa vote. That's our vote.”
