Howard Kurtz Sets Fire to Trump’s Claim Lester Holt ‘Fudged’ Interview: ‘Absolutely Not’ Credible

‘There is no credible allegation that NBC, or Andy Lack, or Lester Holt edited the interview in a misleading way’

EXCERPT:

SCOTT: “Here is the tweet from the president when he — he writes: ‘What’s going on at @CNN is happening, to different degrees, at other networks - with @NBCNews being the worst. The good news is that Andy Lack(y) is about to be fired(?) for incompetence, and much worse. When Lester Holt got caught fudging my tape on Russia, they were hurt badly!’ So there is as you say the president’s suggesting a major network head ought to be fired, but at the same time what’s this business about fudging the Russia tape? Is there any evidence that the interview with Lester Holt that the president did was somehow doctored?”
KURTZ: “Absolutely not. You showed part of it earlier with John Roberts. This was an interview last year two days after the president fired Jim Comey at the FBI and he gave an explanation that set off a firestorm saying it was related to the Russia investigation. There is no credible allegation that NBC, or Andy Lack or Lester Holt edited that interview in a misleading way. And by the way NBC posted the whole thing online so people can look at it. President also is referring to rumors, that’s all they are at this point that Comcast might decide to drop Andy Lack just as he’s saying AT&T should drop Jeff Zucker. I want to say again, I’ve been very critical of these news organizations at times for unfair reporting but I don’t think the president should be calling for anyone to be fired.”
