Fox News: Google Adds Good News Feature to Google Assistant

‘There is definitely some good news out there to be found’

EXCERPT:

LARSON: "Google will tell you something good. You can ask your Google Assistant literally, 'Tell me something good,' channel your Rufus and Chaka Khan, and it will give you good news stories. I've been going through it this morning. We've got some good stories. 'A place to play. San Antonio water park where children with disabilities can go on every ride.' It's a nice story. 'African farmer saving their cows with some antelope cologne.' I’m not really sure what that means. What Google wanted to do was they're concerned that we are all getting overwhelmed with bad news and that the news cycle can be depressing, so they wanted to create an algorithm that finds good news. They are working with nonprofit organization that sort of goes out and finds all of these good news stories and then presents them through the Google 'Tell me something good.' It’s an interesting idea. Now, I went through several of these attempts at getting good news stories. Some of them were older stories."
