SMITH: "So how will this play for Republicans come mid-terms?"
GURDON: "It depends on the underlying strength of the economy. If the economy is booming, things don’t look bad at all for the Republicans. If this tariff start to make the different, and we’ve seen the stock market wobbly ever since the President started talking about tariffs in mid-January, if I could predict that I would be a millionaire many times over. But I would say that this will not help him going into the elections and it will not help the Republicans."
