O’Reilly to Jose Antonio Vargas: ‘You Don’t Have an Entitlement to Be Here’ (Mediaite)

Immigration activist Jose Antonio Vargas joined Bill O’Reilly tonight to react to President Obama‘s speech on immigration reform. Vargas would be personally affected by the reform the president announced, and got a bit emotional as he talked about being able to see his mother for the first time in a long time.

Vargas, you may recall, revealed a few years ago that he is an illegal immigrant who was brought to the United States when he was 12 to live with his grandmother. Since going public Vargas has become an advocate for immigration reform and DREAMers across the country.

O’Reilly told Vargas, “Surely you understand how millions of Americans say, ‘You know what? Bad behavior’s being rewarded.’” And while he sympathized with Vargas’ situation, O’Reilly noted that there are plenty of people who, unlike Vargas, “came here in devious ways.”
