Chris Matthews on Keystone: ‘It’s Going to Happen’ (National Review Online)

The Keystone XL pipeline will be a major issue for Congress and the White House until it’s ultimately constructed, says Chris Matthews. “It’s going to come back again and again,” he said on Meet the Press.

As both houses of Congress move to potentially pass a bill for its construction in the coming week, President Obama has indicated he will veto the legislation, but Matthews didn’t expect the president to hold out forever.

“He may feel he has to do it for his environmental supporters, but it’s not going to stop it — it’s going to happen,” he said. “It will happen now, next year, or the year after.”
