MSNBC Guest: The Keystone Pipeline Will Hit Minorities Hardest

‘Six out of 10 African American children have asthma as a result — um, largely impacted by the air we breath’

ELLIS-LAMKINS: "I know he [Obama] is on the right side of the politics because if you listen to what the folks who're on the other side are saying is they are saying global warming isn't real and what we know is people do believe it's real. And in fact, they are also saying about the jobs -- and what we know it's not actually going to create a lot of jobs. And what we know is about who is most impacted by those emissions. What we know, six out of 10 African-American children have asthma as a result — um, are largely impacted by the air we breath. We know that almost 70 percent of low income people and people of color live near a power plant. So I don't think people can be fooled into the rhetoric that less than a thousand jobs is more important than the air that we breath."
