McAuliffe: Trump’s ‘Putting Walls Around Our Country,’ Alienating Canada, Mexico, the EU

‘We need to be careful, because we’ll end up paying more for products’

EXCERPT:

McAULIFFE: "What he’s doing is putting walls around our country, he's alienating Canada, Mexico, the E.U., pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal has so alienated our Atlantic allies. He's turning everybody against the United States of America. And if you want to get into a trade war with China and these other countries, we need to be very careful, because all of us will end up paying more for products. It’s ridiculous, it's reckless, it's stupid, and he shouldn’t be doing it. I just don’t think he has the understanding of what global trade is all about. We in America can beat anybody, we can be competitive, but when you put walls up, we are going to pay a horrible price. A lot of people who voted for him are going to pay a price because the goods will go up. You give me a good, fair trade deal, let me at it. America can beat anybody."
