EXCERPT:

BURNS: "I think here is an example where the President’s Twitter account got ahead of American policy, because what the President tweeted out Sunday is really a fundamental repudiation of everything he stood for in the campaign, everything he stood for as president over the last 16 months. As you say, this company, ZTE, has violated United Nations sanctions and American sanctions on North Korea and Iran. It’s been blackballed by the United States government. And for the President to come out and say we need to save these jobs, Chinese jobs in China, it doesn’t make any sense. You have to think that the government, the Commerce Department will have to walk this back because it’s not going to stand. It won’t go down well with the Congress or the American people or the American business community or common sense, frankly."
