New Day’s Chris Cuomo took aim at morning show rival Morning Joefor its hosts’ former chumminess with President Donald Trump during a segment on Sean Hannity’s relationship with the White House.

Brian Stelter appeared on New Day to discuss a Washington Postreport that described Fox News host Hannity as Trump’s “unofficial chief of staff.”

“What is Sean Hannity?” Stelter asked. “Is he a newsman — he says no — an opinion guy? Is he the president’s shadow chief of staff? I thought the Washington Post’s reporting was so so interesting because it really portrays this television host as someone who should be in the White House organizational chart. As someone who essentially has a desk at the White House.”
