Jimmy Carter: ‘I Pray’ Trump Will Keep ‘Country at Peace’

‘I pray that he would keep our country at peace and not exaggerate or exacerbate the challenges that come up with North Korea, in Russia or in Syria’

EXCERPT:

CARTER: "I pray that he will keep our country at peace and will not exaggerate or exacerbate challenge that will come up with North Korea or Russia or in Syria and so forth. I follow that very meticulously in the news every day and I pray that he'll promote human rights, which is equality among all people, and that he will value the truth and he'll value the things that we value. But I think he has an opportunity and that responsibility which has been shared now ever since Eisenhower was president, at least concerning nuclear weapons. And so I hope he realizes very profoundly, as I did and as other presidents have done, that any nuclear exchange could result in catastrophe for all human beings. We've lost faith in our ability to address things equally. We've lost faith in the equality of human beings."
