Joe Scarborough: ‘Dumb Liberals Don’t Watch This Show’; ‘Smart People’ Do

SCARBOROUGH: "Will told me yesterday that I was a little too harsh of the top by talking about dumb liberals, and you know --" [crosstalk]

BRZEZINSKI: "You were too harsh. I didn't like it."

SCARBOROUGH: "-- and he goes, 'You're insulting your audience.'"

BRZEZINSKI: "That's right."

SCARBOROUGH: "I said, 'Well, no, because dumb liberals don't watch this show, because you have to smart to watch this show. Because dumb liberals and dumb conservatives they just say stupid, bad things."-- [crosstalk]

BRZEZINSKI: "Joe, if we could talk about --"

SCARBOROUGH: "All I'm saying -- 'cause I need to explain it --"

BRZEZINSKI: "Please --"[crosstalk]

SCARBOROUGH: "-- smart people, smart liberals, smart conservatives like watching the show because you don't just -- you know, we don't paint by numbers for idiots. Like smart people like the show. Now, I'm going to be too harsh again this morning [indecipherable] Dumb people run this building."

BRZEZINSKI: "Hey.”

SCARBOROUGH: "I mean, seriously.

WALLACE: "Or the smartest people on Earth -- I actually think they are the smartest people on Earth.

SCARBOROUGH:  "They just want to keep people liking them.”

WALLACE: "They just want to keep out any refract. It's like the first intellectual test to go on this show to see if you can get in the building."

BRZEZINSKI: "Are we failed?" (Laughter)
