Kristol: Cohen FBI Raid Means ‘We’re Close to the End’ with Mueller Probe; ‘This Is War’

‘He has sort of precedence here. so I’m a little doubtful this is not part of the investigation or in accord with his wishes. this is a huge escalation’

Bill Kristol Says Cohen FBI Raid Means ‘We’re Close to the End Game’ With Mueller Probe: ‘This Is War’ (Mediaite)

Shortly after the New York Times reported that the FBI had raided the offices of President Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen and seized records related to the Stormy Daniels hush payment and other topics, conservative pundit Bill Kristol noted that this latest development could mean we are reaching the end of the Mueller investigation.

With the Times reporting that federal prosecutors got the search warrant following a referral from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, possibly from information he had uncovered during his probe into Russian election meddling, Kristol told a CNN panel that Mueller appears to be escalating things in his probe.

“I would say based on — a little bit of knowledge of how these things work, if Robert Mueller asked the Southern District not to do this now, they would have held off,” The Weekly Standard founder stated. “He has sort of precedence here. so I’m a little doubtful this is not part of the investigation or in accord with his wishes. this is a huge escalation.”
