Michael Schmidt: The President Realizes Finally the Severity of the Mueller Probe

‘I think he understands the costs that could come with getting rid of Mueller’

EXCERPT:

SCHMIDT: "I don’t know if he freaked out as much as he’s sort of feeling emboldened. As my colleague Maggie Haberman reported this morning, the President is feeling increasingly comfortable where he is as the commander-in-chief. He’s sort of flexing his muscles a bit. This is more about that than it is about anger. And I think the President realizes finally the severity of this, how serious it is. And I’m not sure he’s exactly going — knows how to get out of it. This is someone who does hate firing people and I think he understands the costs that could come with getting rid of Mueller."
