Rep. Esty: ‘Too Many Members of Congress’ Are ‘Afraid’ of the NRA

‘They should be more afraid of not following through with their duty to protect the American people and to protect these kids’

EXCERPT:

ESTY: "The President was right. I was sitting at that table, you know, a little over a week ago. Too many members of Congress have been too afraid of the gun lobby and the NRA. They should be more afraid of not following through with their duty to protect the American people and to protect these kids. I think it’s different now. You’re absolutely right. These Parkland students have several things that really matter. They’re angry and they’re right to be angry. They know how to use social media. So, Chris, you and I know how important that is to politicians. They’re not going away. They’re not giving up. I’m not giving up. Again, we changed the laws this year in Congress and I think we're going to see a change in Congress."
