Denny Heck: We Didn’t Learn Much from Hope Hicks Because She Was Ordered Not to Answer Questions

‘She simply said through her attorney, I refuse to answer’

EXCERPT:

FAULKNER: "What did you learn from her?"
HECK: "Not much because she was ordered not to answer questions. It was that straightforward, frankly. As a matter of fact, it wasn’t even an assertion of executive privilege, Harris. She simply said through her attorney, 'I refuse to answer. I have been instructed not to answer.' It wasn't a legal basis of executive privilege. It was simply 'You can’t talk.' At one point, Harris, her attorney said in response to a question, 'If you were a prosecuting attorney, I would tell you that’s none of your business.' Frankly, that’s not in keeping with the spirit of the importance of this investigation. But that’s where we were."
