Blumenthal: ‘It Should Be Inspiring’ That More People ‘Are Watching MSNBC’ (The Washington Free Beacon)

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.) said Wednesday that it is "inspiring" that he is hearing about more people watching more cable news now that Donald Trump is president.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews was flummoxed by the "clown show" of Trump holding "Fake News Awards" while supposedly being uninformed himself. Matthews asked Blumenthal what to make of it, and the Connecticut senator said it was much more serious than a clown show.

"I think that dismissing it as a ‘clown show’ is a disservice to how threatening and how dangerous it really is because it is undermining and corrosive to our democracy," Blumenthal said. "And the real threat here is that people will lose faith, although frankly what I hear in Connecticut is that folks are watching MSNBC."
