Emma Thompson: Climate Deniers Akin to Believing in Lizard People

Speaking in London Monday, actress Emma Thompson likened skeptics of global warming to those who believe many humans are actually lizards:

“We didn’t realize what they were doing, but now we do know. You’ve got 97 percent of climatologists, the science is all there. Anyone who tries to deny it now looks a little bit bonkers, like that guy who thinks that we’re all, you know, lizards. It’s a form of insanity, and it’s a form of collective suicide. It’s like a martian attack on Earth, I mean we are the martians. So we have to get all our governments, including the U.N., which has been making a lot of noise about it, but actually, there are so many vested interests against it and they have to be challenged, which is why this has to be the greatest grassroots movement of all time.”
