LEVENTHAL: "Tragic news over the holiday. A California highway patrol officer struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver on Christmas Eve. Police say the 33-year-old officer was in the passenger seat of a parked patrol car when he was struck on the San Francisco Bay Area Highway. The officer leaves behind three children who had been waiting for their father to return home to open Christmas presents."
