Jonah Goldberg: CFPB ‘Is a Hate Crime Against the Constitution’

‘I think the CFPB from the outset was an atrocity’

EXCERPT:

GOLDBERG: "I think the CFPB from the outset was an atrocity. It was a hate crime against the Constitution. The Constitution is very clear, you only have three branches of government. Congress is the only branch that is allowed to levy taxes, raise taxes or apportion revenue. And yet, this thing is funded by the Federal Reserve, it is allowed to levy fines and fees on people without approval from Congress. It is now claiming that it exists in some sort of forbidden zone, bizarro other dimension, upside down from 'Stranger Things' and it's not actually part of the executive branch. If it’s part of the executive branch the president of the United States gets to appoint whoever the head is, or the acting head is, pending congressional approval. This whole thing, there are a lot of issues going on here."
