BRZEZINSKI: "NBC News reporting this morning that Tony Podesta, brother of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and Tony’s lobbying firm The Podesta Group, are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, according to three sources with knowledge of the matter. The sources say the probe into whether Tony Podesta and his firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act grew out of Mueller’s inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. The Podesta Group worked with Manafort to promote Ukraine's image in the West and, like Manafort, filed a foreign agents registration form after the work was reported by the media. In a statement, the spokesman for the Podesta Group said, 'The firm is cooperating fully with the Special Counsel’s office and has taken every possible step to provide documentation that confirms timely compliance and that the firm’s conduct, due diligence and consults with the appropriate legal experts to ensure compliance with disclosure regulations at all time and we did so in this case.'
