Will: If Arab ‘Neighborhood’ Can’t Take Out ISIS, ‘We Shouldn’t’

‘You’ve got six nations in the neighborhood — if they can’t do it, we shouldn’t’

Will: If Arab ‘Neighborhood’ Can’t Take Out ISIS, ‘We Shouldn’t’ (National Review Online)

“I think what the president is trying to do,” said columnist George Will on Fox News Sunday, “and I sympathize with this, is to get the neighborhood to rally.”

Will points to significant military competency in the Middle East: “Look what’s in the neighborhood: Saudi Arabia has 250 highly competent aircraft and an AWAC system [Airborne Warning and Control System] to control it. You’ve got Iran and Iraq, [who] are enemies of ISIS, so [are] Syria, Jordan, and the Kurds, who are, for all intents and purposes, a nation right now. So you’ve got six nations in the neighborhood.”

“If they can’t do it,” Will concluded, “we shouldn’t.”
