Richard Painter on Trump Politicizing Death of Kelly’s Son: ‘No Understanding of Human Emotions’ (Mediaite)

Earlier this week, in an apparent effort to prove his false claim that President Barack Obama didn’t call the families of fallen soldiers, told a talk radio host that he should contact Gen. John Kelly and see if Obama contacted him after Kelly’s son died in Afghanistan in 2010.

This evening, CNN reported that Kelly had told Trump that Obama didn’t call him after his son was killed in action prior to the president bringing it up. However, Kelly never thought Trump would publicize that information.
