‘I am leaving the embassy soon. But perhaps not for the reasons that the Murdoch press and Sky News are saying at the moment’

WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Says He'll Soon Leave Ecuador Embassy (Wall Street Journal)

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said he would soon leave the Ecuadorean embassy in London, where he has been holed up for two years to avoid extradition, though he declined to specify under what conditions.'

Britain, which has kept police stationed at the embassy round the clock since Ecuador granted Mr. Assange political asylum in 2012, said it remained committed to extraditing the 43-year-old Australian activist to Sweden to face questioning in a sexual-assault investigation.

At a hastily called news conference with the Ecuadorean foreign minister at the embassy on Monday, Mr. Assange denied British news reports that he planned to hand himself over to U.K. authorities because of poor health.
