NBC: Iraq ‘Unraveling’; Airstrikes Not Likely to Stop ISIL in ‘Long Run’ (Washington Free Beacon)

NBC’s Keir Simmons, on the ground in Iraq, reported Monday that the political crisis in Iraq is “adding to fears that this country may be unraveling” before the threat of terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS.)

NBC video showed religious minorities protesting in the streets outside the U.S. consulate, taking a stand against the slaughter of Christians and Yazidis by ISIL terrorists seeking to drive out dissidents.

Citing U.S. government sources, Keir reported, “U.S. arms and ammunition are being supplied to Kurdish forces, and the Pentagon says those air strikes are having an effect, but are not likely to stop ISIS in the long run.”
