Rep. Joaquin Castro: San Antonio Offered to Take in 10,000 Hurricane Harvey Evacuees

‘So, this city, just like other cities in Texas and around the country, will step up in any way that it can to help the people of Houston’

RUSH EXCERPT:

SCIUTTO: "We've talked to a number of the evacuees who have been told they may not be able to return to their homes for weeks, possibly months. Is San Antonio prepared to take in these evacuees for sometime now?"
CASTRO: "We absolutely are. In fact, yesterday San Antonio offered to take in 10,000 evacuees right away. We did the same thing after hurricane Katrina as folks had to flee New Orleans. And, so, this city, just like other cities in Texas and around the country, will step up in any way that it can to help the people of Houston."
