Michael Warren: The ‘Extremeness’ of People Tearing Down Statues Is a ‘Good Thing’ Because It Sparks Debate

‘They should be put in museum and put in the proper context’

EXCERPT:

WARREN: "But a lot of this stuff is just the kind of things that keeps going because it happened 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 years ago and no one stood up and said, 'Maybe we should change it.' The right thing to do is probably to stand up and say we should change it and the individual states have an obligation if these kinds of debates, even the extremeness of some of these people going and trying to tear the statues down does spark the debate. Probably in the end it's a very good thing."
